The Top 10 Family Fun Activities in Central Minnesota

As with many Minnesota spring seasons, Mother nature seems a little undecided on the weather this year, but it’s never too early to start planning for summer. Being engaged in your community leads to great potential. Those who attend local events and volunteer in their communities are already on their way to improving connections across the area. We’ve gathered a list of the top 10 things to do in St. Cloud during the warmer months to bring people together!

  1. Attend a Community Showcase

These events are free family entertainment for a whole day! On Saturday, March 18th, Rocori High School will be hosting the 2017 community showcase. Sign-up to win door prizes, play games and attend Kenny Ahern’s comedy show.

  1. Munsinger Gardens

On those beautiful days, when the flowers are in bloom, the greatest thing to do is take a stroll through Munsinger Gardens. If you’re looking for a relaxing activity for the whole family, this is it! Starting on June 11th, you’ll be able to attend Music in the Gardens every other Sunday at 3 p.m. Stop by, listen to some tunes and taste the famous root beer floats! On July 20th, Munsinger will host an Art Fair with artists from all over the state! Visitors can browse and purchase artwork from over 45 artists.

  1. Quarry Park

Quarry Park and Nature Preserve is a community park offering outdoor enthusiasts an escape from the city. Get lost on the trails or jump off the high rock at the swimming hole. The park recently added a second swimming spot, which features a sandy beach and is only 40 feet deep compared to the original swimming hole at 116 feet!

  1. Inflatable 5k

Kids of all ages can participate in the Inflatable 5k on June 10th! Powder Ridge Ski Resort is hosting the event and had great success in the past.   1. Bike on the Beaver Island Trail

One of the greatest sights in St. Cloud is the Mississippi River. The beautiful Beaver Island Trail along the river is perfect for a scenic bike ride. The recently added expansion will allow residents to easily bike or walk to local restaurants and hotspots in the downtown area.

As the temperature starts to rise, children in the St. Cloud area will start to look forward to enjoying the Lake George Splash Pad. On a warm summer day, you can expect to see many kids trying to cool down in the sprays and splashes of the water. Pack some lunch and enjoy at day at the park.

  1. Warner Lake

Only a short drive out of St. Cloud, Warner Lake is a hotspot for all ages during the summer months. It features a large sandy beach with room for sunbathing and a shallow swim zone for the kids to play. Bring along some hot dogs for grilling and enjoy a perfect day at the beach!

  1. Granite City Days

Attend the plethora of events taking place during Granite City Days. On June 22nd through the 26th, there will be lots to do in the St. Cloud area. You’re bound to find something you and your family can enjoy! The Lemonade Art Fair, Liberty Block Party, and the parade are always big attractions.

  1. Summertime by George

Summertime by George is a free concert and festival put on by the St. Cloud Rotary Club. Enjoy live concerts every Wednesday through the summer starting on June 14th. Every week you’ll have the opportunity to walk through the park, try foods and products from vendors and connect with other community members. It’s a great place to see what great people make up the place we call home.

  1. Summerland

Summerland Family Fun Park is located right off of Highway 15. You’ll enjoy go-karts, bumper boats, batting cages, mini golf and a waterslide! There’s plenty of space to host a party or get a group of friends together for a family fun day.
