The Saint Cloud area is a strong and close community, so what makes 66,000 people want to live here? For starters, our community has a ton of events going on throughout the year. Here are just a few of them:
One of the… brightest… traditions in the St. Cloud area is the Winter Festival. Many community members don their winter warmest to watch the parade and take part in the festivities. Taking place December 9th through the 11th this year, the Winter Festival added on a third day for extended fun. Register to become a sponsor before October 20th. Enter a Float into the Winter Nights & Lights Parade down St. Germain before November 25th. Also enjoy a winter wonderland at Lake George, a Skywalker parade, and a Run, Plunge, & Pub event.
St. Cloud Area Music Festivals
There really is something for everyone in this community, especially for the diehard 80’s music fans. During the last weekend of the July 2016, the voice of Foreigner, Lou Gramm, rocked downtown during an oldies tribute concert named Taking it to The Streets. VIP tickets would have earned you a front row spot to hear classics like “I Wanna Know What Love Is” and “Cold as Ice”.
Saint Cloud is also very beautiful! We have some of the prettiest parks such as Lake George, which hosts weekly concerts during the summer. Summertime by George brings together over 2,000 people every Wednesday during the Summer to watch popular artists and bands like Kat Perkins to entertain, while local food trucks and restaurants serve delicious food. Need we say more?
The Fire Department puts on a great country concert every July—fittingly enough, the hottest month of the year. Firefest hosts popular country music artists such as The Band Perry and Eric Paslay. Accompanied by the music is Cold Spring’s local brewery, Third Street Brewhouse. Craft beer and country music pair perfectly with the event’s atmosphere. If you’re not busy in July, this concert is a must to see!
With all the music festivals and events taking place, we think Joetown Rocks takes the cake for the best summer festival in the Greater St. Cloud area. Formally “St. Joe Days,” Joetown Rocks brings thousands of people together to enjoy beer from local distributors, fair food and music on a ginormous stage performed by Classic Rock tribute bands. There are so many people watching that you would really think Queen is really up on stage performing Bohemian Rhapsody.
Police Advocates League (P.A.L.)
Music isn’t the only reason Saint Cloud is a close community, we have great Police Departments who care about our protection and areconstantly working to better the area. The Sartell Police department has been running a Police Advocates League (P.A.L.) which brings police officers and children together to get to know each other. P.A.L. has been growing since 1994 and continues to welcome new members every Tuesday and Thursday during the Summer months.
Community events not only provide entertainment for the public but also bring the community closer together. Large gatherings like these are a safe and friendly atmosphere for friends and families to get together and celebrate our welcoming community.
