This year’s speaker was Captain Dan Willis of Bulletproof Spirit. Consistently being immersed in violence, danger, tragedies, and heartache can often scar the spirit of any first responder. “Bulletproof Spirit” book and the 4-hour presentation provide over 40 proactive wellness and emotional survival strategies that will help protect and heal the heart, mind, and spirit of those who serve so they will no longer suffer in service.
His presentation, “Bulletproof Spirit – Emotional Survival and Wellness Strategies” will provide essential wellness information to promote officer survivability and protection against the many adverse effects of the profession. Suicide is the #1 cause of officer death with another estimated 120,000 (nearly 1 in 5) working with PTSD. Attendees will learn effective methods to process stress, overcome trauma, proactive strategies to protect and heal their spirit to maintain mental – emotional – and physical fitness, and ways to maintain their motivation and professionalism while serving to protect and give life to others with compassion, integrity, and good health.
All participants will receive a complimentary copy of the book, Bulletproof Spirit. Spouses/partners were encouraged to attend. The conference is created for first responders in Benton, Sherburne and Stearns counties in Minnesota. Lunch is provided, as well as a social following the event.
